1. What is Search Radar?
    Search Radar is a unique tool to assist you in your web searches. A typical search will return thousands of matching pages in the search results. Locating the right page that matches your query intent is a hit-or-miss process of figuring out the magic combination of keywords. Search Radar assists you in this process by providing you with a list of relevant keywords and phrases for your search query that you can use to refine your query. In addition to the list of relevant queries, Search Radar also provides you an excerpt that helps you know more about how the suggested phrase is related to your original query.

  3. How do I use Search Radar?
    Type your search query in the Search box and press ENTER. You see a page that shows related search queries.
    The related queries are displayed in two views - List and Tag Cloud. The tag cloud displays queries in various sizes. Clicking on a query further gives you related queries. In the list view, if you move your mouse cursor over a query, you see an excerpt that tells you a little about the query. At the end of the excerpt there are search engine icons, you can click an icon to search on the relevant search engine.
  4. Why is this product in Beta?
    Search Radar works by analyzing more than a billion pages from the web (currently only English language pages). The product is based on a slightly older version of the web corpus and you may not see good results for queries that refer to recent events. Our latest crawl and index is in the works and we hope to update it soon. We are also looking at hearing your feedback and working on it before we loose the beta tag.
  5. How do the browser extensions work?
    The Search Radar browser extensions help you to refine your search query as you search on Yahoo or Google. When you run a search query, a list of related queries appear on the right side of the search results page. To search with one of the related queries, you just need to click them.
  6. How do I install the browser extension?
    For Internet Explorer users:
    From the download page, click on the download button for IE. Click Run on the dialogue box that appears. The installation will start and the progress appears on your screen. Once installation is complete, you need to restart your browser before you use the plug-in. After you restart run a search on Google or Yahoo, the related queries from Search Radar will appear on the right of the page.

    For Mozilla Firefox users:
    From the download page, click on the download button for Mozilla Firefox and follow the instructions that appear to install the plug-in. Firefox may prevent you from installing the plug-in. Click Edit Options that appears on the message that appears and click Allow. Once installation is complete, you need to restart your browser before you use the plug-in. After you restart run a search on Google or Yahoo, the related queries from Search Radar will appear on the right of the page.
  7. I want to change the number of results that appear with the Search Radar plug-in on search results page. How do I do it?
    For Internet Explorer users:
    From the Start menu, point to Programs, point to Webaroo Search Radar for IE, and click Search Radar Settings. You can use the Search Radar Settings dialog box to adjust the number of results that appear on your search results page.

    For Mozilla Firefox users:
    Open a Mozilla Firefox window. On the Tools menu, click Webaroo Search Radar Options. You can use the Search Radar Options dialog box to adjust the number of results that appear on your search results page.
  8. Can I use 'And Search' (append suggested query to existing query) , to refine my search queries?
    Yes, to set this option you need to modify Search Radar settings.

    For Internet Explorer users:
    From the Start menu, point to Programs, point to Webaroo Search Radar for IE, and click Search Radar Settings. Select the Append original query to suggested query check box and click OK.

    For Mozilla Firefox users:
    Open a Mozilla Firefox window. On the Tools menu, click Webaroo Search Radar Options. Select the Append original query to suggested query check box and click OK.
  9. Can I temporarily disable the Search Radar plug-in?
    Yes, to set this option you need to modify Search Radar settings.

    For Internet Explorer users:
    From the Start menu, point to Programs, point to Webaroo Search Radar for IE, and click Search Radar Settings. Select the Disable Webaroo Search Radar check box and click OK.

    For Mozilla Firefox users:
    Open a Mozilla Firefox window. On the Tools menu, click Webaroo Search Radar Options. Select the Disable Webaroo Search Radar check box and click OK.
  10. How to uninstall Search Radar plug-in?
    For Internet Explorer users:
    From the Start menu, point to Programs, point to Webaroo Search Radar for IE, and click Uninstall. Follow the on-screen instructions to uninstall Search Radar.

    For Mozilla Firefox users:
    Open a Mozilla Firefox window. On the Tools menu, click Add Ons. Select Webaroo Search Radar from the list and click Uninstall. You will need to restart your web browser to uninstall Search Radar.
